Third Annual Wreath Ride - The Sgt Mac Memorial Foundation & Outer
Banks H.O.G. are sponsoring this annual event. The foundation was
founded by the parents of Marine Sgt. Eric McColley after Eric along with
7 fellow Marines and two Airmen were killed in a mid air collision
between two CH-53 E Super Stallions off the coast of Djibouti, Africa. The
National Wreath Project was established on Christmas Day 2006 when
the couple placed over 500 wreaths at Quantico National cemetery were
their son Eric is interred. In 2009 over 3100 wreaths were placed in
Quantico National Cemetery and Soldiers National Cemetery in
Gettysburg, PA. The goal is to expand the number of wreahts each year
and add additional cemeteries when ever possible. The event is
sponsored by Giant Food of PA, who supplies the wreaths at there cost of
$7.00 each, ABF Freight System supplies the transportation at no cost
